Local Development Framework

Wreningham Parish Council's draft response to the SNDC LDF consultation

The Parish Council undertook at its October meeting to share with Wreningham Parishioners the next draft of its response to South Norfolk District Council's (SNDC) invitation to comment on the Local Development Framework (LDF). The response presented a whole village perspective and does not comment on individual plots identified in the LDF. Please see the text below.

If you wish to comment please write to info@wreningham.org before 15th November so that we have time to finalise the response for SNDC's own deadline of 18th November. If your comment is about individual plot(s) then place them on the appropriate part of the LDF pages on the SNDC website.

Consultation on new houses and jobs

South Norfolk Council (SNDC) has started the next stage of consultation on where housing and jobs growth should go in South Norfolk. This is an opportunity for you to influence where new homes and jobs will go, and what our village’s development boundary will be in the future.

They’ve worked out how many new houses and businesses and need to provide space for them in the towns and villages of South Norfolk over the next 20 years or so.  They need to focus on exactly where they should be located, fine tuning the precise number according to local conditions. Your knowledge is needed in helping them make their decisions. So over the next few weeks everyone has the chance to influence where future houses, businesses, roads, shops and other facilities are built.

Land owners have suggested about 15 times more land than is needed to provide for future development.  Nearly 1500 parcels of land have been proposed. About 100 are needed so SNDC is asking you to tell us which land should be set aside for which use especially new houses. The future of Long Stratton and Wymondham are particularly important and they will be asking you about special action plans for them.
