Church

The church wardens would like to thank Sue Sayers for opening her garden on 28th June and also thank all who visited her.  We were please to receive a donation of £302.00 towards the church fabric fund.

The coffee morning on Saturday 25th July raised just over £200.00 towards the purchase of land for a car park at the church.  Thank you to all how supported in any way.  It was a sunny morning so that we were able to enjoy coffee on the patio.

The churchwardens were pleased to be able to present a bible to each of the 13 children leaving Wreningham school and moving on to senior school in September.  We wish them all the best for the future.

Holiday Club – for children 5 years to 11 years.  Monday 10th – Thursday 13th August, 3 pm – 5 pm.  Wreningham village hall.  Activities and stories will be based on the bible and the event will be led by Steve Walker of The Faith Mission. To book a place or obtain more information contact Irene on 489635

The Norfolk Churches Trust cycle ride will take place on Saturday 12th September.  This is a sponsored ride and half the money collected goes to the Trust and half to a church nominated by the cyclist.  At Wreningham we shall be putting our share towards the car park fund.  Anybody can get involved and in the past we have had a number of school age cyclist riding for our church.  If you would like to ride for us, contact Irene on 489635 or Christine on 488123 for a sponsorship form, and get yourself plenty of sponsors. On the day the plan is for you to map out a route to cover as many churches as you wish, call in at them and get the form signed and collect sponsorship for every church you manage to visit.  Go on your own or make up a group and make a day of it, taking a pick-nick to enjoy on the way.  Most churches will provide drinks.  If you only want to be gone for a small part of the day and cover a few churches that is acceptable, there is no prize for the person who visits the most churches or travels the furthest.

If you are not a cyclist but would like to get involved, please volunteer to sit at the church to welcome the cyclists and sign them in – The rota is with Christine on 488123.

Harvest Supper – Friday 16th October at Wreningham village hall.  Ticket prices and entertainment yet to be decided.  Put the date in your diary and watch out for posters and the next edition of church magazine and Mardle giving details or contact Irene or Christine nearer the time.

“Festival of Creation” – Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th September.  Over the week-end there will be displays of flowers, paintings and other artistic works reminding us of the creation of the world and all there is in it.  Our flower arrangers, the village school and other artistic members of the Upper Tas Valley Benefice will be involved is putting on this display. If you would like to get involved in arranging this event, putting on a display or stewarding on the days, we would welcome your offer.  The event will finish with  “Harvest Songs of Praise” \t 6 pm on Sunday 27th.  Watch out for posters giving opening times and further details.  Again offers of help to Christine or Irene.
